Holiday Home Booking Software

Introduction :

:: If you own a holiday property and would like to take advantage of the Internet as a means of increasing your occupancy, we have the perfect solution for you. Our holiday home booking system allows your customers to reserve your property automatically, without the possibility of double-bookings. The system uses a real-time bookings database, just like a travel agent to ensure your up-to-the-minute availability is displayed.

::The main features of the booking system are detailed below:

Client side features :

• Facility to view an up-to-date snapshop of current property availability.
• System allows reservation of certain dates, for a period of your choosing, allowing client to arrange flights etc. These dates can then be firmly booked. The reservation period is chosen to prevent 'blocking' of dates indefinitely.
• Reservations give customer a price based on cost per night for property x number of nights. There is a facility to add a cost option, e.g adding an 'extra guest surcharge'.
• Client can automatically delete a reservation by logging in with their reservation id and e-mail address. Their password is needed to authorise the deletion.
• Client receives confirmation e-mail upon placing reservation and on deleting an unwanted reservation (property owner receives copies so they know a booking has been received)
• 'Double-bookings' are not possible. Database provides 'First come - first served' function.
• Message board. Guests can post messages about all aspects of their holiday upon return. The property owner can choose categories for comment e.g. 'The property', 'Recommended restaurants' etc. Client may edit or delete posts. They may also include a hyperlink to other websites they found useful e.g. car rental company, flight broker. Messages can be sorted by date.
• Photo Gallery. Guests can upload holiday snaps in jpeg format, 640 x 480 pixels, for other people to view. The web server generates a gallery thumbnail 'on-the-fly'. Customer can caption their image, edit caption / delete photo. Where images are sourced from a digital camera, full EXIF data of the image (when taken, exposure, camera make) is viewable
• Information database - rather than have a large number of static web pages that the client must trawl through - all holiday, property information is stored in the database. Information can be viewed by topic or searched by keyword (matching keywords are returned highlighted) allowing your clients to find information quickly and easily. The property owner can easily add / amend / delete topics from the management interface (see below). Each topic generates a keyword-rich url for search engine optimisation. Currencies shown throughout database are converted from local currency to GBP automatically in step with Travelex exchange rate.
• RSS 2.0 data feed of the information database.

Management features :

• Password protected. Username / password of your choice.
• Full maintenance of reservations - converting a reservation to a firm booking once payment/confirmation has been made. An automated e-mail is sent to the customer
• Deletion of reservations.
• Full maintenance of the information database. Add to / Delete from / Edit existing entries.
• View who is online and what they're viewing - gives you useful data on visitor numbers.
• Facility to print off current bookings in printer-friendly format for offline processing / use in your accounts.
• Full invoicing facility providing professional, colour invoices for those clients requiring a written invoice / confirmation.

Technical :

• Uses PHP scripting language and the fast, stable MySQL database server.
• Full client-side JavaScript checking of user data.
• Full server-side data checking with anti-tamper measures to protect your site.
• 'Anti-spam' e-mail address links.
• Encrypted client passwords.
• Check client's cookie status (only a session cookie is used by the software)
• System prevents multiple form submission, thus preventing receipt of multiple reservations if user clicks 'Refresh'

The following features will be provided, included in the cost.

• Basic search engine optimisation and search engine submission.
• Link to flight brokers, airlines, ferries, trains etc of your choice on homepage (a comprehensive list can be provided if you prefer).
• Currency converter on homepage providing: Euro -> Pound , Pound -> Euro or any other single currency you require.
• Visitors online / total visitors count on homepage.
• Real-time weather data with link to 5 day forecast / almanac data (for your property location) on homepage.

We will also start off your information database, setting up ten of the most important topics, typically property details & photos, maps, terms & conditions etc. If you require us to add further topics to the database, we can undertake this work at our standard hourly rate, currently £35 per hour or part thereof.

Licence & costs :

Please note that domain registration is optional. If you have a domain name you wish to use, this can be transferred to our servers.

Web Hosting Requirements :

::Due to the very specific server requirements of our booking system, we provide a "hosted only" service for this software. We can provide high quality, UK based hosting for your booking site at an annual cost of only £80

In effect your purchase price grants you a non-exclusive licence to use the software in perpetuity. Provided you continue to pay your annual hosting fee, your software continues to be licenced.
